Tonight I hit 22,000 exactly by playing a mix of Fallout 3 and Call of Duty: World at War.

Review (Bullet-Point style): Prince of Persia (360)

+'s:

-Great Graphical style
-Fantastic Soundtrack!
-New direction for the series works really well (and I really enjoyed the last series)
-Good Story
-Best Female "help" character this year (possibly in recent memory)
-tight controls
-Great ending!

-'s
-repetitive combat w/ limited actions

neutrals:
-dying isn't a major consequence (wave of the future--we all better get used to this)

Overall, this was a breath of fresh air, both for the series and for gaming in general. Quality Action/Adventure games seem to be a dying breed, and this is a fantastic rental option for almost anyone.

Score: 9.0/10

Review: Dead Space (360)

I was really excited to play Dead Space, and it is a good game. It just isn't enough of a step forward in the genre to stand out.

The strength of the game is its production value (the graphics and sound are very well done). The story is decent enough (there's even a twist), but didn't really grab me like I'd hoped. The controls work well enough, but jumping in zero gravity isn't as much fun as I had hoped. The kicker is that everything absolutely goes to hell when your character is grabbed by a "boss" and goes upside down (the controls get "reversed", but I've dealt with reversed controls before without much issue. These game sequences were extraordinarily frustrating for me.

Perhaps most importantly, the game has very little replay value, if any. I tried to play through the game a second time for some achievements and couldn't make it. It's just not quite fun enough to play a second time.

Overall, Dead Space is a good game, but a 4-year old game from the same genre (Resident Evil 4) is much better even today.

Score: 8.0/10

Points Addict: 21,000

Tonight I beat Gears of War 2 on Insane difficulty and passed 21,000 points for my trouble.

Note: Dash of Destruction (the Doritos game) is free and crazy easy points. It's also kinda fun. Those 3 qualities spell GOTY candidate...

Why is David Jaffe awesome?

This is why (watch his You Tube video). I feel the exact same way. Preach on brother!

Note: Hen-pecked is a much more appropriate term than what I use (p-whipped) and I'm going to steal it and start using it.
