Surf's Up: This is actually a pretty fun surfing with wicked easy points. The gameplay is pretty good, the music is terrible, and the graphics aren't terrible. You should get 950 by renting the game just once (the last 50 points will take significantly longer). I can't actually think of a better surfing game and I'm not sure if that is a good or a bad thing.
Score: 6.5/10
TMNT: The only real challenge to this game is pushing through the boredom. The platforming is actually quite good (it plays like a poor man's Prince of Persia), but the combat is horribly tedious. This is one of the easiest points games you'll come across. One rental, and about six hours, is all it will take to get the 1000 Points.
Score: 6.0/10
Condemned-Criminal Origins: This is the best 360 launch title that I've seen yet. It's pretty freaky, and the gameplay is pretty good. The graphics, as is the case with most launch titles, look like they were orginally coded for the original Xbox, but they aren't terrible. This is a first person adventure game based on melee combat (there are some guns but they really aren't notable) and detective work. This isn't a very good points game (you should only expect a few hundred points in one playthrough), but it is a pretty fun game well worth a rental. The story tells you just enough to want to play the sequel.
Score: 7.5/10
Condemned 2-Bloodshot: This sequel has much better graphics and more interesting gameplay. You now can control punching with your left and right hands, there are combos, there are "chains", etc. Perhaps most importantly though, blocking no longer needs to be timed. You can now just hold down both triggers to block melee attacks. This game isn't quite as freaky, but more of the story is explained and done well, so it's still a very worthwhile rental. The points are even a bit harder to get though (maybe 200-300 in one playthrough) with the introduction of multiplayer, as the bulk of the points are received by playing multiplayer. Also, the multiplayer is pretty much worthless (first person melee wasn't meant to be played multiplayer), as this game had the worst lag on Xbox live that I've ever seen and was almost unplayable online.
Score: 7.5/10
Star Wars-The Force Unleashed: This game had so much potential, especially with so much being made about the physics engine. It's a little bit of a let-down as the controls are often frustrating and the gameplay becomes pretty repetitive. The story makes up for most of the other flaws though, and does a noteworthy job of setting up Star Wars: A New Hope (even more so than Episode 3 did). Plus, the apprentice really comes off as being a total badass, perhaps a little too much so. Obviously, this is a must-play for any Star Wars fan and the best Star Wars video game in quite some time. Most everyone else should enjoy it as a decent rental option. You shouldn't have much trouble getting 400-500 points in one rental.
Score: 7.5/10
